Positive Reviews
positive:
Perfect location.
Guests who were attending the Mardi Gras celebrations couldn't have been happier with the location of this hotel. And guests who were staying at other times of the year remarked that it was a short stroll to clubs, cafes, and restaurants, and a quick drive to the football stadium, just five minutes away.
positive:
Lots of space to spread out.
Many guests pointed out the spacious rooms, and said that certain rooms could have easily accommodated four people. If you need more space than a standard hotel room, you will be in luck here.
positive:
Staff are trying their best.
While a few staff members were described as unfriendly and uncertain about procedures, the majority were commended for their positive attitudes and helpful nature. When problems arose, staff remained level-headed and tried to help to the best of their abilities.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Starting to show its age.
Guests said that this hotel was in need of some serious maintenance and renovation. Cleanliness was also a problem for many, and while some liked the hotel's older charm and unique vibe, most couldn't get past dusty surfaces, outdated bathrooms and pillows that were hard as rocks.
negative:
Don't plan to cook.
Kitchenettes were a let down for guests who had visions of cooking a light meal. They only consisted of a sink, bar fridge, toaster and kettle, and there were signs saying that cooking was forbidden in rooms.
negative:
Inconveniences that can't be overlooked.
Not having an elevator onsite was less than ideal for a number of guests, and Wi-Fi that barely worked was a major disappointment, especially when guests had to pay extra. These factors greatly contributed to guests' negative opinion of their stay.
