Positive Reviews
positive:
Welcoming and friendly staff
It was hard to find a bad word written about the staff. On the contrary, they were repeatedly praised for being very friendly and welcoming. Guests said that they created a wonderful atmosphere about as far removed from an anonymous hotel as it is possible to be.
positive:
Lovely backyard garden
Guests mentioned that the guest house has a back yard garden that is especially lovely in the summer. It was said to be very well tended, and a real oasis of calm.
positive:
Friendly camaraderie
More than just the staff being friendly and welcoming, guests speak about the whole guest house as having the atmosphere of a good hostel, with guests chatting to each other, and plenty of common places to socialise.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No in-room tea or coffee making facilities
While this wasn't mentioned often, it was reported that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. Most were satisfied that these were available in the kitchen downstairs, but some would have preferred to have them in-room.
negative:
Weak shower pressure
This complaint did come up quite e few times. Several guests were a bit unhappy with their shower experience, with most saying that the water pressure was too low to have a really good shower.
negative:
Looking a bit tired
A couple of guests mentioned that the décor was not only a bit out of date, but also looked worn and in need of replacing. In their mind, a full renovation was in order, and would make a world of difference.
