Positive Reviews
positive:
Great value.
Many guests felt that the London Olympus was a great choice for the clean and comfortable accommodation. While basic, it had everything guests needed to get a good night's sleep, and was even better for guests exploring the city during the day and only needing a bed at night. Free parking was nearby, linens and towels were changed daily, and the neighbourhood was safe, according to satisfied guests.
positive:
Close to the action.
Guests liked the location of London Olympus, which was within a two-minute walk of the University of East London, and 15 minutes by public transportation to the ExCel Exhibition Centre. Guests particularly enjoyed the close proximity to Central London, which was about a 30-minute or less subway ride away. Also, a large supermarket was found just around the corner.
positive:
Friendly staff.
While a few guests would have liked staff to have better English conversational skills, their friendly demeanour made up for it. Sometimes a warm greeting is all you want after a long day, and that is exactly what guests got.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Separate from reception.
If questions or concerns arose, guests had to trek back to reception to address the matter. Rooms are located in a different building than the general reception, and guests found it inconvenient to travel back and forth.
negative:
A chilly affair.
Guests had a variety of complaints about the showers at London Olympus. Some showers were found to be too small, while others had heating problems, both with the room that the shower was located in, and with the lack of hot water.
negative:
Lacking a few things.
A few details would have improved this property dramatically, and guests thought that the addition of a lift, and small details like a bedside lamp, and extra pillows and blankets would have been a welcome change.
