Saj By The Lake, a unique boutique resort. Saj by the Lake is a journey into the Malshej countryside. The design draws inspiration from the quaint red-brick villages spotting the valleys all around. The rooms offer striking views of the adjacent lake, the hills nearby and of the village next door. At once, you are part of the landscape. The design of the resort allows the landscape to filter into the interiors. Saj is committed to being local. Maati Baani (Language of the Earth) is a celebration of local flavours. New interpretations of local foods cooked slowly in pits are served here in multi-coloured earthenware. Maati Baani is an attempt at bringing the drama of the Malshej countryside into the interiors albeit in a whimsical studio-like atmosphere. A resident printed cow, a tall patterned brick wall, glowing clouds and small black birds perched on wires; these are what create the ambience at Maati Baani. Plenty of outdoor activities await the willing. Trekking in forest, walk n the mountains or by the lake, climb rocky mountain or just slow drive in the ghat, visit the Shivneri Fort (birth place of Shivaji Maharaj) or just do zorbing within the premises.
