About Hotel Miró
Situated in the very heart of Bilbao near the Guggenheim Museum, the Miro Hotel is a chic and very trendy design hotel offering sophisticated accommodation.
The rooms are decorated in neutral tones and have that sleek
and modern feel of today’s design hotels. Each features air conditioning,
minibar, flat screen TV, hairdryer, in room safe, work desk and telephone.
The hotel is an art lover’s paradise, with over 40 contemporary works of art adorning its public areas. The Miro has a small wellness area with massages and spa treatments available.
A simple healthy breakfast is served at the tables every morning. Otherwise, reception staff will be happy to offer recommendations for the best spots to dine in Bilbao.
The main attractions in Bilbao are of course its art museums. The Guggenheim is just 300 yards from the Miro, while the Belle Arte Museum, with its strong regional focus, is just 200 yards away.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent central location
It seems many guests had come to Bilbao to explore its arts scene, so the location right between to Guggenheim Museum and the Belle Arte Museum was simply perfect. And of course all the amenities of the city centre were quite accessible to them as well.
positive:
Free courtesy bar
While it doesn't supply alcoholic drinks, there is a free courtesy bar on-site where guests can grab hot and cold drinks, as well as small snacks. They found this convenient for when the odd hunger pang struck, and thought it was a wonderful gesture.
positive:
Great restaurants and bars in the area
The hotel does not have its own full restaurant, so guests were happy to report that there was no shortage of great places in the surrounding streets for both dining and drinking.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Breakfast far too expensive
This was a very common complaint. For a start, guests thought that the breakfast was oversold. To them it was a fairly basic meal, with little variety. Secondly they said that it was very significantly overpriced, with much better value to be had at cafes
negative:
Bathrooms too small
This was another very common complaint. While guests conceded they were certainly very stylish, they found the bathrooms to be much too small for their liking. They found it difficult to move around comfortably in the room.
negative:
Some rooms a bit noisy
While it doesn't see to apply to all rooms, there are clearly some that experience a problem with street noise. Going by guest comments, the hotel is usually willing to allow rooms to be switched, but of course this can never be guaranteed.
