Positive Reviews
positive:
Good spot for Lake Charles Casinos
Quite a number of guests were in the area to try their luck at the nearby Lake Charles casinos. It seems that many felt that it was better to stay just a short distance away at this hotel and save quite a bit of money in the process - money that could be put on red seven.
positive:
Rooms remarkably quiet
While the hotel is right next to the I-210, there was a surprising absence of noise complaints. On the contrary, several guests mentioned that they found their room to be pretty quiet. Still, light sleepers should perhaps request a room facing away from the highway.
positive:
Spotlessly clean all round
Even guests who described themselves as “neat-freaks” seemed to be thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness of both their room and the public areas of the hotel.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Pool out of commission
Several guests, staying as late as April 2016, were very disappointed to find that the pool was out of commission, reportedly as a result of a road realignment. While staff assured them that a new pool was being built, no timeline regarding its opening was available.
negative:
Some questioned value for money
While most guests conceded that the room-rates were much lower than those of the casino hotels nearby, many felt that they were not sufficiently lower. Several guests thought that they would be able to get the same amenities and level of service at similar hotels in the area at a lower rate than they paid.
negative:
Dogs yapping
The hotel's exceptionally pet-friendly policies attracted a number of guests with dogs in tow. While it was terrific that they could enjoy a holiday with their pet, some other guests complained that the frequent barking caused them quite a bit of distress.
