About Kellah Farm

Kellah has been a small hamlet since 1402 and has been farmed by our family since 1849. We provide self-catering cottages and Bed & Breakfast on a working hill farm near Hadrian's Wall. The Bed & Breakfast unit has 5 en-suite bedrooms and a large guest lounge. A "Shepherd's Breakfast" is served in the dining room. A Bio-mass boiler provides all our hot water and heating. We have 2 self-catering cottages. Children and adults can walk around the farm to see the workings of a traditional hill farm or use the children's play area. Kellah is an ideal base for exploring Hadrian’s Wall Country and the North & South Tyne Valleys of Northumberland. The “Pennine way” which is a hill walk along the backbone of Britain, passes only a few hundred yards from the farm. The Summit of Cross Fell, which reaches 2930 feet and marks the highest point in the Pennine Chain, can be seen to the south-west of Kellah. The beautiful landscape around Kellah plays host to an abundance of wildlife. If you’re lucky you may catch sight of red squirrels or badgers in a small oak wood on the farm.
