Clean, quiet rooms...
The rooms are generally described as very clean, with comfortable beds and plenty of hot water for showers. The free Wi-Fi works well and the double-glazed windows provide good soundproofing. Early risers enjoy the breakfast buffet, which offers a good selection of hot dishes, meats, fruit, yogurt, and pastries.

Rooms are a little tired...
The Mercure Budapest Metropol is an older building, and most guests agree that the rooms are ready for refurbishment. The generally worn condition of the furnishings, carpets, and fixtures seems to present a bit of a challenge for the housekeeping team, though the majority of guests are pleased with their efforts.
negative:
Hot summer in the city...
Several guests found the air-conditioning not up to its task in the summer, and unfortunately, opening the window let in too much traffic noise for some to get a good night's rest.

Counting the stars...
The Mercure Budapest Metropol is rated four star, and rating systems vary from one country to the next. However, visitors from various countries have commented that a three star rating might be more appropriate, as they were disappointed to find the hotel does not offer common "four star" amenities such as a fitness centre, pool, or formal restaurant.
