The rooms are simply furnished and include clean sheets, comfortable beds, a sink, dresser and mirror, microwave and mini-fridge. The bathrooms are shared on the floor, one for men and one for women. Towels and toiletries are complimentary.

The hotel within walking distance to many attractions, MUNI and BART stations, restaurants and shopping areas, including Westfield San Francisco Center Shopping Mall which is just a 10-minute walk away. The Civic Centre and United Nations Plaza are within 5-minutes' walk. Other attractions such as the Orpheum Theater, the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco and the Louise Davies Symphony Hall are also 10-minutes' walk away.

The reception staff have been described as polite and friendly. The check-in process is quick and you can expect staff to go.

The hotel is set in an old building and the decor and furnishings have been described as old and outdated. The rooms and general areas are not always of a high standard of cleanliness. The bathrooms in particular can become very dirty. Guests also commented that the rooms and common areas smell unpleasantly of smoke and urine.

The walls are not very well insulated and guests noted that depending on the activities of other guests, the noise level in the hotel can be loud.

Not all guests felt safe or comfortable at this hotel. Some guests commented that the local area is frequented by homeless individuals and some guests had the impression that hotel caters to guests who are homeless and some who have drug habits.
