Positive Reviews
positive:
Located at a good distance.
Hotel Akabar is located only a 15-minute walk from the Square. Guests will be able to take a short walk to the entertainment area, and still be able to sleep at night, as the hotel is far enough away from the noise to provide undisturbed rest.
positive:
Decent pricing.
The rooms may be on the small-ish side, but the rates are
more than decent than one would have expected. The value for money offers
guests a great location without having to spend an arm and a leg to enjoy the
close proximity.
positive:
Pride in their work.
The cleaning staff take a great deal of pride in their work, and the proof is in the very clean, and well maintained furnishings. Hotel Akabar and it's grounds have been kept in tip-top shape to provide it's guests with the most comfortable surroundings they can be afforded.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Not the best morning meal.
The breakfast supplied each morning doesn't always have the biggest variety, and most mornings it is little more than boiled eggs, toasts, jams, cereals, and juices. The surrounding are is filled with café's and restaurants to offer other options for the morning meal.
negative:
Per person taxes.
Each guest is required to pay taxes, at a set rate per day. Unfortunately, most guests don't find this out until they come to the time of having to check out. This is not a pleasant surprise, as the bill may have accumulated to a substantial amount, especially after longer stays.
negative:
Dated décor.
Each of the rooms at Hotel Akabar are furnished comfortably, and are very well maintained, but many may find the décor to be on the dated side. A refurbishment will not be out of order in the near future.
