Horinji Temple (Chiyoda-machi, Ora-gun, Gunma Prefecture), which has been in existence for about 700 years, opened TEMPLE STAY ZENSŌ, the only lodging facility in Chiyoda-machi, on January 30, 2023. The property was renovated from a vacant Hourin-ji temple building, and is a 2038 Japanese version of a "shukubo" (temple stay) for "modern people to enjoy their spare time," with only one guest per day able to rent the entire building. Located 90 minutes from central Tokyo, we offer a stay where you can let go of the conveniences of everyday life and enjoy a slightly more elaborate lifestyle, allowing your body and mind to get in shape. In these chaotic times, it is becoming more important to "ask questions" to oneself and one's loved ones. The "temple" is the best place to create such opportunities. TEMPLE STAY ZENSŌ" is a place to "ask questions in a tranquil setting away from the city center. TEMPLE STAY ZENSŌ is a space that offers a "soul retreat experience to tune the mind and body. ZENSŌ, which is a combination of ZEN (Zen) and ENSO (Enso), has the meanings of "Zen monk" and "Zen villa" (Zen accommodation). When one corner is removed from ▢, it becomes △, and when there is no corner at all, it becomes ◯. The logo design uses ◯△△▢, a simple expression of Zen. The interior design using ◯△▢ is also noteworthy!
