Positive Reviews
positive:
Ideal location- close to the sea
The hostel has a perfect location. It is just a few steps from the sea and within walking distance to grocery shops and restaurants. It's easy to get about town and nightlife opportunities are close by. It's really ideal for travellers and those with backpacks as car parks and several bus stops are in the vicinity.
positive:
Not your usual hostel
This hostel is different from those you might be picturing. While there are many young people in dormers, there are also rooms for families and private rooms with ensuites. The hostel is clean and nicely appointed and the beds are comfortable. Overall, it has a great atmosphere at a really great cost.
positive:
A friendly staff who cares
The staff here is very friendly and amenable to special situations. They are compassionate for those who have emergencies and work hard to provide a facility that is easy to use for many different purposes. The self-service aspect does not mean that the personal touch is sacrificied.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A lot of extra upcharges
The room rates are different for each situation and each room. It can get a bit confusing and guests are often unpleasantly surprised to be told the charge is different from what they were expecting. Even the standard breakfast menu has several different layers of charges. There are also upcharges for necessities, like towels and washcloths.
negative:
You'll get what you pay for
Some of the rooms are much nicer than others. If you're willing to spend extra, you can stay in a private room with a comfortable mattress. Otherwise, you'll find yourself in a dormer room with a thin, creaky mattress and rough bedding and strangers in the next bed.
negative:
More "no" than "yes"
There is no privacy, unless you pay for a completely private room. There are no chairs in any rooms. There is also no way to mask the loud atmosphere, both inside and out.
