Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent views
The hotel is situated right in the edge of the water, close to the beach. It seems that, despite the hotel not being a high-rise, most rooms have very good views over the sea, which by the tone of the reviews, guests really appreciated.
positive:
Very good spa facilities
While there were a couple of guests with one or two minor issues with it, the whole spa area received overwhelmingly positive views. They were said to be very extensive with a great pool with a view and also good massages and other treatments available.
positive:
Genuinely pet-friendly
Though not often mentioned, those who did bring up the subject of their pets said that they felt very happy being with them in the hotel. They seemed to feel that the hotel was genuinely pet-friendly, rather than merely tolerating them.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Car park some distance from hotel
This was perhaps the most common complaint. Due to reasons that are not well understood, the hotel's parking garage is some 300 yards or so from the hotel itself. While this was not a major issue at most times, guests were generally not thrilled to have to walk that distance if it was raining or they had pets to deal with.
negative:
Poor English language skills
It seemed that guests who understood no French had some considerable trouble communicating their needs to staff. Their English language skills were said to be quite poor, leading to some frustrating episodes.
negative:
The bar with no beer
Well, it probably did have beer, but guests mentioned that there was no way to get any of it after a very early hour in the evening since it had closed up shop. Several guests were perplexed and considered t very poor practice for a hotel to close its bar so early.
